“Green” is the catchphrase these days, and we’re going to show you lots of green (and greenery) during our 3 night tour to Arkansas this coming June 10-13. We’ve planned such a nice itinerary filled with great food, interesting and entertaining tour features, and the beauty of gardens and summer greenery.
Join your Vickie White Group Travel friends as we journey to Little Rock for a 2-night stay. Enroute, we will enjoy afternoon “tea in the gardens” at beautiful Garvin Woodland Gardens, outside of Hot Springs. Our attention to green will continue with a visit to the world headquarters of Heifer International in Little Rock. This international organization has as its slogan, “Ending Hunger, Caring for the Earth” and was named as one of Forbes Magazine top 10 Charities . Their Little Rock headquarters was recently named one of the top 10 Green Projects in the world.
We will enjoy a tour of the Bill Clinton Presidential Library, including lunch at “Café 42” located inside the library. Presidential libraries are always fascinating regardless of your political affiliation; with a scale model of the Oval Office and filled with lots of presidential memorabilia and videos, you’re sure to enjoy this visit.
We will spend some time in the newly restored River Market section of Little Rock (and enjoy a meal there) before we tour the city itself, visiting sites that are familiar to the fans of “Designing Women”, “Evening Shade” and even “Gone with the Wind”.
Dinner will be aboard the “Arkansas Queen”, for an evening of cruising up the Arkansas River, with dinner and musical entertainment.
We travel to Eureka Springs for our final night’s stay, with time for shopping and enjoying this beautiful perched-on-the-mountain town. Our evening’s highlight will be dinner and a performance of the world famous Great Passion Play, now celebrating its 40th’ anniversary with a cast of more than 250 and including live animals.
